Time Flies: Mommy and Me Photoshoots
Mommy and me photoshoots are a simple and fun activity; and also honor the beautiful, intricate, and incredibly fulfilling journey of motherhood. These special sessions are lovely, candid moments to treasured for a lifetime. In this blog I will state some of my essential steps that help to create an amazing photoshoot for you and the little one.
1: Just Be Yourself.
The best photos often come from candid moments. Don’t stress about forced poses candid shots will reflect the authentic love and joy you share. Candid photo moments bring about genuine emotions and interactions, often resulting in more authentic and relatable images.
Usually for these moments I will ask the mother to simply interact with their child. I don’t try to get too detailed, I just want them to naturally interact; as if I myself am not around.
Another thing to help showcase a personal touch is to simply bring a personal item. Bring along a favorite toy, a book, or even family heirlooms that represent your journey together a/o something to interact with. These personal items can tell your unique story and add depth to the photographs.
2: Coordinate Outfits.
While you don’t have to match exactly, coordinating colors and styles can create a balanced and gorgeous aesthetic. Soft pastels or vibrant colors can both be excellent choices, depending on the vibe you're going for.
3: Confidence Boost.
For my mothers out there, stepping in front of the camera can feel daunting. However, a photoshoot can be a great way to embrace self-love and showcase the beauty of motherhood. Postpartum body dysmorphia is indeed a thing and for some mothers the last thing they want to do is jump in front of a camera. So, while these photo sessions are indeed about showcasing you and your new loved ones, it’s also important to display just how beautiful you as a mother truly are and will always be. When you see those images, you’ll be reminded of the strength and grace you exhibit daily.
